Reimagining Indoor Accessibility For All
MABLE (Mapping for Accessible Built Environments)’s vision is to make large indoor environments accessible for people with disabilities (PWD) to enable participation in large events, conferences, and educational programs. Utilizing Crowdsourcing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Robotics, we are able to populate and create a real-time responsive map. Available and usable through a digital app, MABLE will make indoor environments more accessible for people with disabilities. MABLE goes beyond mapping by enabling users to navigate indoor environments in real time through turn-by-turn instructions.
Our last public community workshops were on January 27, 2023, July 7, 2023 and June 12, 2024. The MABLE team is excited to announce that we will be attending and presenting at the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference in Anaheim, CA from March 10-14, 2025. We look forward to networking with experts, learning from best practices in the field, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
MABLE is made possible thanks to the National Science Foundation (NSF)'s Convergence Accelerator Program. Our team was selected as part of the 2022 Cohort Phase 1 of Track-H focusing on Enhancing Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities. The input and feedback you share during the upcoming webinars will be integrated with our Phase 1 research activities to enhance the competitiveness of the Phase 2 NSF funding.
Turn Unknown Places into Familiar Spaces
